Make it Last.

Your Dex-O-Tex Weatherwear deck can last many years with just a little TLC.  Maximize the life of your deck by following some very simple maintenance instructions.  To clean your deck, we recommend washing with a mild solution like Simple Green or Ivory.  Use a soft-bristled brush to remove any residue or stains like bird or plant droppings.  Permanent stains are more likely if regular cleaning isn’t done.

The top coat of the deck is designed to withstand normal everyday wear and direct exposure to the elements.  Over a period of time, the top coat should be resealed with Dex-O-Tex sealer.  Depending on the level of traffic on the surface, resealing should take place every 3-5 years, but definitely not longer than 7 years.

To avoid some of the common problems associated with traffic bearing coatings like Dex-O-Tex, you should avoid putting heavy objects or heavy point loads on the deck.  Do not expose the surface to harsh chemicals or acids.  Do not roll or drag things across the deck surface.  Do not cover the deck with carpet, tile (unless installed over a compatible system), mats, etc.  Do not puncture or slice the covering.

It is our goal to make your deck last.  As a courtesy to our customers, we mail a maintenance reminder letter that coincides with the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule.

We offer free maintenance inspections.  Contact us today to schedule an appointment.
